There was no damage and the installation instructions were clear enough. The wireless feature has worked well for both my own and my wife's desktop. The added benefit is the ability to use my wireless laptop anywhere in the house and be able to print. The only concern I have is the fact that I leave the printer on all the time. It took a little mental adjustment to be sure that the computers are online when sending something to print. We are not in business so the printer is not subject to heavy workload. It seems to fill our personal needs. Thankfully the ink cartridges are available from discount internet suppliers. This was a big part of our decision to go with the Brother MFC 490CW.
